The nostalgic trailer features the return of Ralphie's friends Flick and Schwartz and is set in the 1970s during the events of the original film.

Ralphie takes his kids to Higbee's in one scene so they can visit Santa Claus.

“Don’t let him kick you in the face,” he tells them, recalling a famous scene from the original film.

But contrary to that film, none of "A Christmas Story Christmas" was filmed in Cleveland, despite what might appear on screen.
