To assist California residents in dealing with inflation, the state began sending Middle-Class Tax Refund (MCTR) payments in early October.

Some residents, however, are still waiting for the one-time payments, and the state has just issued new guidance on when they will be received.

"Californians may receive payments ranging from $200 to $1,050," California Representative Jim Costa tweeted on October 24.

On October 25, he tweeted, "ICYMI: The first round of middle-class tax refund payments have been sent out beginning October 7 through October 25."

Those who qualify for assistance will be paid via direct deposit or mailed debit card.

According to the State of California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) website, if you are eligible, you will automatically receive a payment.
